Pamukkale: A Must-Visit Destination in Türkiye
Pamukkale is one of the most fascinating places in the
world, renowned not only for the enchanting beauty of its unique geological
formations but also for its historical remains. A trip to Pamukkale is
essential for every tourist visiting Türkiye. So, while you are here in Didim
on your holiday in Türkiye 2024, there’s no better time than now to join this
popular tour from Didim.
Pamukkale has always been a highly popular settlement where
the hot springs were believed to have healing powers, thus the city became the
center of a pagan cult in antiquity and a spa resort today. It features a
shimmering white cascade formed by limestone-laden thermal springs, which have
created stalactites, potholes, and magical fairy tables. The water is reputed
to be beneficial for the eyes and skin and to alleviate the symptoms of
rheumatism, asthma, and dermatitis. The journey to Pamukkale takes about three
hours.
After an hour and a half, we take a 30-minute break,
followed by another hour and a half journey. Upon arrival, we will first enjoy
a fabulous lunch, then your guide will inform you about the historical and
present-day significance of Pamukkale (Hierapolis). After providing you with
information and guidance on where to go and what to do, the guide will set a
meeting point and leave you free for about three hours. It’s up to you whether
to visit the ancient side of Pamukkale, walk in the white paradise, or swim in
Cleopatra's Pool. After your explorations, you will meet your guide, head down
to the town, and enter a very popular restaurant to have your lovely lunch. On
the way back to Didim, we might visit one of the biggest handmade carpet
weaving centers.
